This year, the Neighborhood Street Safety Program (NSSP), which was first created and funded by City Council in 2019, completed its first edition of improvements. This program included the solicitation of street safety project applications from community members that eventually totaled more than 360 locations! ODOT will design and manage the construction of a single-lane roundabout at the intersection of U.S. 20 and Ward/Hamby roads east of Bend. The project went to bid in the fall of 2021, with construction to follow into the summer of 2022.
The Neff and Purcell intersection project is in the City’s approved budget for 2021-2023. Construction will begin in 2022.
