Camping Code

With a four to three vote, the City Council gave preliminary approval to a new Camping Code, which will regulate camping on City-owned property and City rights-of-way like public streets, sidewalks and landscape strips in Bend. Here is a quick reference that overviews what the regulations include.

The intent of the Camping Code is to manage the right-of-way for the public, to maintain rights-of-way for their intended use, and to support people in crisis on Bend’s streets. The new regulations address when, where and how camping is allowed, and how the City will approach compliance.
