The Neff Road and Purcell Boulevard Improvements Project is a high priority project providing both north-south connectivity and improving safety and capacity for all users in a vital area of Bend.

REMINDER

A full closure of the Neff Road and Purcell Boulevard intersection will be required during construction from February 22 through mid–summer 2023. (See detour map below.)

Detour routes include 8th Street, Greenwood Avenue, 27th Street and Butler Market Road.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATES

February 9 through February 16

Purcell Extension

Excavation and rock hammering will take place in the vicinity of the Purcell Extension. This work is necessary to prepare the site for the construction of new infrastructure.

Neff and Purcell Intersection

Utility locating work will be conducted to identify the location of any underground utilities for temporary sign supports. This work will help ensure the safe and efficient installation of detour signage.

Crews are gearing up to begin construction on the Neff and Purcell Improvements project. You are invited to attend an in-person pre-construction public meeting for the Neff and Purcell Improvements Project. The project team will share construction plans and information regarding the Neff and Purcell intersection closure, detour and project schedule. The information and exhibits from this meeting will be also available on the project website bendoregon.gov/neff-purcell.

Pre-construction Public Meeting

DATE:  Thursday, February 2, 2023
TIME:  4:30 – 6:30 p.m.
LOCATION:  Deschutes Children’s Foundation, East Campus, 2125 NE Daggett Lane

The meeting is an open format, so you may arrive anytime during the allotted time period. There will be no formal program. Instead, there will be information stations where you can speak with project team members, ask questions about the project and fully understand the impacts to expect during construction.

Accessible Meeting Information

This meeting location is accessible. Sign language interpreter service, assistive listening devices, materials in alternate format such as Braille, large
